Player props price one player's output rather than the result. The line is a projection with a margin on both sides of it, and the scope changes the bet entirely.
Props cover map and series kills, headshots and opening duels. Read AWPers and entry fraggers separately, and weigh each team's side strength on the maps in play.
A prop line is the operator's projection of a player's output over a defined scope, with a price on each side and margin built into both. Beating it means disagreeing with the projection, not simply liking the player. Convert both prices to implied probability and add them: the excess over 100 percent is what your read has to overcome before it earns anything.
Kills, assists and headshots share a floor of zero and no ceiling. That makes the spread of outcomes right-skewed, since a player can beat a line by a wide margin on a long map but cannot fall below nothing. One spectacular game therefore pulls a player's average above the figure they post in a typical game, and a line set near that average can sit above what the player usually does. Count how often they have cleared the number rather than working from the mean.
Entry fraggers, duelists and carries post higher combat numbers than anchors, controllers and supports because of what the position asks of them. Read the line against the role first, then against the matchup. A player whose team is likely to be on the back foot still gets chances, but the shape of those chances changes, and assist-based lines frequently move in the opposite direction to kill-based ones.
Stand-ins, benchings and late role swaps are the routine hazard here. Most operators void a prop when the named player does not appear, but the rules diverge on partial participation, on a substitution mid-series, and on a player who appears for one map of three. Find that rule before placing the bet rather than while disputing the settlement.
Lines on well-known players attract one-sided money on the Over, and prices adjust to that flow. It does not follow that the Under is automatically better, only that the Over is the more likely side to be shaded. Judge the number against realistic output, and accept that one player in one match carries heavy variance no matter how careful the reasoning was.

Most operators void or refund when the named player does not play, but the treatment of a mid-series substitution or a player who appears on only one map varies. Read that specific market's settlement terms before betting.
A series line accumulates across every map played, so an Over on it is partly a bet on the series lasting longer. A sweep cuts the available maps and can beat the bet even when the player performs exactly as expected.
