Total Rounds asks how many rounds a map or series produces, not who wins it. The format itself rules out some totals entirely, which is where most of the reading happens.
Also first to 13, but tournament overtime is played in two-round win-by-two sets, so overtime rounds arrive in pairs and an overtime map total is even. Agent compositions and site defaults drive how lopsided each half runs.
A Total Rounds line is a number of rounds, combined across both teams, for a defined slice of play: one map, a numbered map, or a whole series. You choose whether the real count finishes above (Over) or below (Under) it. Who wins is irrelevant to settlement.
Most lines carry a half point, so 24.5 splits cleanly: 25 rounds or more is an Over, 24 or fewer is an Under.
This is the part of the market that rewards knowing the format. Under the MR12 rules used in CS2, each half is twelve rounds and a team takes the map on its thirteenth round win. Regulation therefore runs from 13 rounds (a 13-0) to 24 rounds, which is either 13-11 or a 12-12 heading to overtime.
Tournament overtime in CS2 is played in six-round MR3 blocks, first to four. The shortest possible block is four rounds. Add that to the 24 already played and the smallest overtime map is 28 rounds.
Valorant also plays to first-to-13, but its standard tournament overtime runs in two-round sets until a team leads by two, so overtime rounds arrive in pairs and an overtime map total is even. Run the same arithmetic against whatever ruleset the event publishes before accepting that a line is meaningful.
The common mistake is treating a close series as a promise of long maps. A 2-1 result can contain two quick maps and one grind, and the series total will still disappoint an Over backer who priced it map by map. The second is reading last month's scorelines without checking which maps produced them, since a team's round output changes completely between its comfort pick and a map it was pushed onto.
Round totals reward format literacy more than opinion, and they still lose regularly when one pistol round snowballs into a half. Decide the stake before you look at the price, and keep it to money you can lose without it mattering.

Because the format cannot produce them. Regulation ends at 24 rounds at the very latest, and the shortest overtime block adds four more, so a completed map is 24 rounds or fewer, or 28 or more. A line inside that gap is effectively a bet on whether the map reaches overtime.
That depends on the operator and on the specific market. Some settle on regulation only and some count every round played. On this market the difference is worth at least four rounds, so it is worth checking on the bet slip every time.
