In August 2025 the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas told e-wallet providers to strip links and icons for online gambling platforms out of their apps, and gave them 48 hours. It may not stay this way. PAGCOR has been lobbying to have e-wallet funding restored under tighter conditions, arguing that stronger verification should earn the payment rails back.
