What it is
In a Bo3, a -1.5 map handicap means your team must win 2-0. A +1.5 handicap means they only need to take a single map (win 2-1 or lose 1-2). It turns a lopsided match-winner price into something with real value.
When to use it
- Backing a strong favourite at short odds? -1.5 boosts the price if you're confident in a clean sweep.
- Backing an underdog? +1.5 pays out even if they lose the series, as long as they grab one map.
The trap to avoid
Don't take -1.5 on a favourite that wins ugly. Some teams win series 2-1 far more often than 2-0, check their recent 2-0 rate, not just their win rate. That's the difference between a value bet and a coin flip.
