Italy is a fully licensed market and an expensive one to enter. Every online concession expired at the end of 2024, and the replacement round priced a nine-year licence at 7 million euro against roughly 200,000 under the old regime; 46 operators came through it holding 52 concessions, running from 13 November 2025. On top of the fee sit a 24.5% tax on online sports betting gross revenue and 25.5% on online casino, which is the sort of cost structure that shows up later as a thinner price on the coupon.
Informational only, no operator is featured in this market.
Advertising is the other half of the picture. The Dignity Decree of July 2018 bans gambling advertising and sponsorship almost entirely, which is why an Italian reader sees so little of it, and its compatibility with EU law is now before the Court of Justice on a referral from the Council of State. Bet with an ADM-licensed operator; none of the books ranked elsewhere on this site holds an Italian concession, so nothing is listed here.
