Tether (USDT) is a stablecoin: one token is designed to track one US dollar, so the balance does not move with the crypto market. That single property is why it has become the default coin at esports betting sites. You keep the speed and the reach of crypto without watching a winning bet lose value overnight because Bitcoin dropped while the withdrawal was pending.

One token, many networks

USDT exists on several blockchains, among them TRON (TRC-20), Ethereum (ERC-20), Solana, TON and BNB Chain. The token is the same everywhere; the rails are not. A cashier gives you an address for one specific network, and sending TRC-20 USDT to an ERC-20 address, or the reverse, is the most common way players lose money on crypto deposits. Those funds are usually unrecoverable, and support cannot conjure them back.

Pick the network in the cashier first, then select the matching network on the withdrawal screen of your wallet or exchange. TRON transfers are the cheapest and confirm quickly, which is why most books default to TRC-20; Ethereum costs more, and the fee rises with congestion rather than sitting on a tariff sheet.

The flow itself is simple: choose USDT and the network, copy the address or scan the QR code, send, wait for the confirmations the site requires. What makes it worth slowing down is that the mistakes are terminal. On the first deposit to any new site, send a small amount and let it credit before you send the rest. On TRON that test costs a rounding error next to a wrong-network transfer. While you are in the terms, check two other things: whether the site credits you in USDT or converts to fiat on arrival, and whether crypto deposits are excluded from the bonus you were planning to claim, because plenty of books exclude them.

The peg is a design goal, not a deposit guarantee

Tether is a private issuer, not a bank. The dollar peg has held through several stress episodes, but it is a property of how the token is run and backed, not a legal guarantee, and no deposit insurance sits behind it. For the hours or days a betting balance exists that distinction rarely matters. For a bankroll parked long-term it is worth knowing you are holding an issuer's liability rather than money in an account.

Where paying with crypto is restricted

Crypto reaches markets where cards and bank transfers get refused, but it does not override local rules. Turkey is the clearest case: the central bank's Regulation on the Disuse of Crypto Assets in Payments (Official Gazette no 31456, 16 April 2021, in force 30 April 2021) bans using crypto assets to pay for goods and services and bars payment and e-money institutions from intermediating such transfers.
