First Blood pays on the opening kill. In MOBAs it is a scripted in-game reward, in shooters it is a single duel, and the two are not the same bet.
Settles on the first pick of a round or map, so entry duelists and the attacking side's opening push into a site create most of them. Check the agent picks and site preference before committing.
In Dota 2 and League of Legends the first kill of the game carries a built-in bonus for the team that lands it, so both sides have a mechanical reason to hunt or bait it. Level-one invades and early roams exist partly because of that reward. The size of the bonus is patch-dependent and has been changed more than once, so read the current patch notes instead of a number you remember from an old season.
In CS2 and Valorant there is no in-game bonus. The opening kill is a duel that creates a man advantage for the rest of the round, and operators settle it as the first kill of a round or of a map depending on how the market is written.
Markets sold under this heading settle on different events:
Edge cases decide more of these bets than people expect. Ask how the operator treats a suicide, a kill by a tower or a neutral unit, a trade where both players die in the same instant, and a disconnect before the first engagement.
Early-game identity rather than overall strength. A roster with a dedicated entry fragger, an aggressive jungler or a roaming support takes more opening duels than a team built to farm and gather information. Side selection and the map matter for the same reason: some setups are designed to take space early, others to concede it and punish afterwards.
One duel is close to a coin flip in most balanced matchups, and both sides are usually priced near even, which means operator margin is a large share of your expected result. It works as a small in-play position where you can watch the first thirty seconds before committing. It works badly as the anchor of a slip. Keep the stake at a level where losing several in a row changes nothing about your week.

The first kill inside the period the market defines, most often the opening kill of a map or of a specific round. Operators word it differently, so confirm the scope and the edge-case rules, including suicides and non-player kills, before staking.
It is easy to follow and settles quickly, which makes it approachable, but the outcome is close to random in balanced matchups and the price rarely compensates for that. Use small stakes and treat it as engagement rather than as a source of returns.
